Benjamin Britten and Ralph Vaughan Williams complete cycle ON WENLOCK EDGE

On Monday,
October 27, 2008,
the singers of Studio
303
will
present a concert devoted entirely to the songs of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg.
The Opus 5
song settings, plus those of Opus 18 and Opus 67 (Haugtussa Songs), will be
performed and Grieg's famous En Svane, Solvieg's Song and Fra Monte Pincio will also be sung.
The concert will begin at 7:30 in ASU's Organ Hall with a reception to
follow.
On Thursday, December 4, 2008, The ASU Thursday
French Diction Class will present a concert of 19th
century French Song. Twenty songs featuring works by Bizet,
Saint Saëns, Massenet, Berlioz, Hüe, Hahn and others
will be programmed for this recital. The concert will take place in the ASU Recital
Hall at 5:00 pm.
On Monday, February 16, 2009,
the singers of Studio
303 present a program entiltled SERIOUS FUN
which will feature humorous songs of William Bolcum, Tom Lehrer, Cole
Porter, Stephen Sondheim, Richard Rodgers and others. As in past 303 recitals,
each member of the studio will sing a featured solo and then join in in
the finale of the program. Admission is Free.
Location: The Arizona State University School of Music Organ
Hall. The concert time is 7:30 p. m.

Studio
303 celebrates the life and work of French
composer Cécile
Chaminade
in a studio
recital
of
her songs entitled La Voix
d'une Femme
(One Woman's Voice). Chaminade's compositions are
joyously
lyric and delightfully singable and were inspired by some of the
most important French poetry of the late nineteenth and early
twentieth centuries. The concert will take place on Monday, October 29. 2007
in ASU's Organ Hall at 7:30 pm.
